Farewell to Brewster Baptist Church

Presented a twelve page study of the demographics of
the areas served by BBC to the Advisory Council in
August. Conducted the census in September, with 396
responses. Tabulated all the forms and summarized
the results in a comprehensive spreadsheet.

The census revealed that the profile of BBC members
correlated with changing demographics, and the
nationwide Pew Research reports. In essence, BBC
is a large (for Cape Cod) non-denominational Protestant
church which has drawn most of its members from other
affiliations. The attraction is the superb preaching of the
Senior Pastor and the contribution of members to the
inner workings of the church and its outreach activities.

At this point, Brewster Baptist Church was becoming
for me more of a management consulting client than a
place to worship. Simultaneously, I put my house in
Brewster on the market, and moved to Yarmouthport.
I am now attending St. David's Episcopal Church in
South Yarmouth.

So I have gone back to The Episcopal Church, and
attended the convention of the Diocese of Massachusetts
in Hyannis in November. In my view, TEC is still in
serious theological error, but I hope to work from the
inside to right the ship. Other orthodox figures have
also done so. I enjoy the company of fellow Episcopalians;
they are my people.
