To the Dean of Adult Education:
The Chaplain gave a clear and compelling lecture to the
new member class on Small Groups at BBC. She said there
was a waiting list to join existing small groups, and a need
for persons willing to lead new groups.
Herewith a modest proposal. I would be willing to lead
a new group for persons who have come to BBC from
Roman Catholic or Anglican churches. The objective
would be to use the study group as a vehicle for helping
us with the integration of our liturgical backgrounds into
the life and worship of Brewster Baptist Church.
From the Dean:
Sorry that I haven't answered this sooner. I'll put a
blurb in the Sunday bulletin. I haven't done it for this
week. I drove down and back to Williamsburg, VA this
past long weekend and I've been hurriedly catching up
on several things. More later.
To the Dean:
Wonderful, and much appreciated! I hope there is a
draw. I have met three couples at BBC who are former
Episcopalians, and they all talked my ear off. I still have
affection for Catholics, too, having been raised as one.
In the bulletin, you may list my telephone no. and email
address. Then I will need guidance from you and
whomever as to how to proceed in accordance with BBC
protocol. I believe you said the church has a manual on
small groups. I'm an engineer, I always read the manual.
